The Easton Farm Park Holiday Cottage Access Statement
The Disability Access Statement outlines facilities available for visitors and guests who have allergies or are mobility, hearing or visually impaired.
General:
Easton Farm Park is an award winning visitor attraction set in 35 acres of beautiful rural Suffolk countryside. On the farm we have Suffolk Punch horses, rare breed cattle, sheep grazing on the meadows, goats, rabbits, poultry, pigs and much more.
Within the range of attractive Victorian buildings are three holiday cottages which have been refurbished to a Grade Four Standard by the English Tourism Council.
The farm is open daily during the season to the public from 10:30am to 6pm from March to 11th September and also during the October half term school holidays (22nd-30th October) and the two weeks leading up to Christmas (10th-23rd December).
A Farmers’ Market is held monthly on site (fourth Saturday). Other events are held throughout the year and details can be obtained from our website www.eastonfarmpark.co.uk
Easton Farm Park and the holiday cottages: The Duke, The Duchess, and The Sanctuary are to be found in the village of Easton. Easton is a small rural village to be found 6 miles from market town of Woodbridge, just off the A 12 at Wickham Market.
Seaside Cottage is situated in Thorpeness, seconds from the beach near Aldeburgh.All buildings and the holiday cottages at Easton Farm Park are part of a listed tourism site and thus, limitations have been placed to any modifications that are able to be made, however please do let us know, if you have any helpful ideas or suggestions.
Easton Farm Park
EFP is well signposted by the brown tourist trail signs, from all major routes, namely the A12 and A14. The village of Easton is 4/5 miles from the market village of Wickham Market. No public transport is available to the village of Easton or Easton Farm Park.
At Wickham Market (Campsea Ashe), there is a railway station which is served the main London Liverpool Street to Lowestoft line, please see National Express website for up to date information: www.nationalexpress.com
There is no external lighting either in the car park area or the buildings. There is limited external lighting to be found on each of the holiday cottages.
The car parking area has hard standing area for cars with a concrete driveway providing access to the main site.
The entrance kiosk allows access to the main site and the holiday cottages. From the entrance kiosk, access to the main site, animals pens, barns, café and other buildings are found along a flat, concrete driveway.
There are grass areas too between the buildings along with a main green to be found in the middle of the main site and buildings.
There are two wheelchairs available to be used on site. Additional wheelchairs, other aids and equipment can be hired locally via the British Red Cross, for further information please contact the Medical Loan Service on 01473 219261.
All main areas for the buildings, café and toilets are accessible for wheel chair uses. There i are two disabled toilets on site and one can be found near the Riverside café and the other inside our Barmy Barn.
All animal paddocks, the outside play area and the picnic areas are on grassland.
There is the Green Trail to be found at the rear of the site. This includes flat pathways which are grass land; these areas are not so accessible to those in wheelchair or buggies.
The Riverside Café/Hamilton Room/Workshops
The riverside Café, Hamilton Room and workshops are located in near the river. It is accessible for both wheelchair users and children in prams/buggies.
The Easton Farm Park Cottages
On site there are to be found 3 holiday cottages, Sanctuary, Duke and Duchess and Seaside Cottage in the seaside village of Thorpeness.
Each cottage has been refurbished to a high standard.
There is no loop system fitted on site. There is wi fi connected to the site.
Safety Equipment
Fire extinguishers, fire blankets and first aid boxes are available on site and to be found in each cottage.
DUKE COTTAGE
Downstairs
Entrance via pathway and steps to the front entrance door leading to entrance hallway.
From the hallway there is access to the ground floor accommodation, kitchen, dining room, lounge and storage area plus the bathroom with wc is to be found on the ground floor.
Stairs lead to first floor accommodation;
3 bedrooms to be found on the first floor.
DUCHESS COTTAGE/SANCTUARY COTTAGE.
Entrance via pathway and steps to the front entrance ground floor accommodation:
Ground floor accommodation, kitchen, dining room/lounge and storage area plus the bathroom with wc is to be found on the ground floor.
Stairs lead to first floor accommodation;
3 bedrooms to be found on the first floor.
SEASIDE COTTAGE, THORPENESS
Entrance via a pathway and door step leading to an entrance area which is also can be used as a conservatory.
The property is a bungalow, with step up to kitchen, leading to hallway with access to main bathroom and double bedroom.
From Dining area there is open plan eating area leading to lounge and door ways to one large twin bedded room and one bunk bedded room.
Both the Duke and Duchess cottages are semi-detached. These three bedroom properties are to be found on site at EFP and access can be gained via the entrance to Easton Farm Park.
Luggage can be unloaded outside each property on either a concrete hard standing area or on a gravel driveway.
