"Notes from the Field"

After years of planning and months of building, we opened the campsite expansion last week with “Cowshed Tom” at the helm, Cara by his side and, most importantly, Hudson's Electrical switching on the hook ups in the nick of time, we took a big leap into the unknown and welcomed our first campers.

So… how has the first week been?

Well, only recorded breaking temperatures followed by two gargantuan thunderstorms with torrential rain have hit this dry and sunny part of Suffolk. Having said that, the main concern of our friendly and “can do” campers has been the early morning calls of the visiting "Jack Donkey", who has come to attend to our "Jennies". With any luck this mild inconvenience will be rewarded by the cutest donkey foals in summer 2020.

Jonathan the Jester and the Western Community Circus took up residence on Wednesday and have been entertaining everyone over the weekend. Even Steve the “Stockman” fancied himself on the trapeze (Don’t give up the day job Steve!)

Bookings are increasing day by day and we can begin to see the makings of a fun and friendly community on site. Rumour has it there was even an impromptu “Easton’s got Talent Show” in the family room during Thursday’s storm, lit by the ever-increasing lightening forks across our endless Suffolk skies.

It feels like the start of something special …… bring on week 2.
